Background Information
ULBP2, or UL16-binding protein 2, is a member of the retinoic acid early transcript (RAET) family and serves as a ligand for the NKG2D receptor, which is expressed on natural killer (NK) cells, CD8+ T cells, and certain subsets of CD4+ T cells (PMID: 18791713). ULBP2 plays a critical role in the immune response by mediating natural killer cell cytotoxicity and is involved in antigen processing and presentation (PMID: 22102694; 21764762). ULBP2 has been implicated in various cancers and is associated with prognosis and immune infiltration in colon cancer (PMID: 36633827).
