Background Information
ZNF259, also named as ZPR1, is an evolutionarily conserved protein characterized by two C4 zinc fingers and two Zpr1-specific conserved homology domains. ZPR1 was first identified in mammalian cells as a cytoplasmic protein that was capable of binding the intracellular domain of the unactivated EGF receptor (EGFR).
