Background Information

IGSF3, known as EWI3, is a member of the immunoglobulin superfamily (IgSF) involved in various cell-cell interactions. IGSF3 is part of a cell adhesion molecule that is involved in cell-to-cell recognition, binding, and signal transduction. IGSF3 plays an important role in neural development, especially in the migration of neural crest cells and the development of the enteric nervous system. (PMID: 9541533; PMID: 37821496).
