Background Information
CXCR7, also named as CMKOR1, GPR159 and RDC1, belongs to the G-protein coupled receptor 1 family. It is a receptor for CXCL12/SDF1. CXCR7 acts as coreceptor with CXCR4 for a restricted number of HIV isolates. CXCR7 was shown to contribute to neoangiogenesis in prostate cancer and to promote tumor cell proliferation in breast cancer and adenocarcinoma of the lung.
