Background Information

PAGR1 (PAXIP1 Associated Glutamate Rich Protein 1), also known as PA1 or C16orf53, the PA1 protein forms a complex with the histone H3K4 methyltransferases MLL3 and MLL4 and interacts with PAXIP1 (PAX Interacting Protein 1). PA1 is associated with the DNA damage response, is involved in early embryonic development, and may play a key role in male reproduction. PA1 has estrogen receptor binding activity and is involved in the endogenous positive regulation of the intracellular estrogen receptor signaling pathway.
