  WB analysis of human placenta using 16270-1-AP

  human placenta tissue were subjected to SDS PAGE followed by western blot with 16270-1-AP (PPCDC antibody) at dilution of 1:500 incubated at room temperature for 1.5 hours.

Background Information

Biosynthesis of coenzyme A (CoA) from pantothenic acid (vitamin B5) is an essential universal pathway in prokaryotes and eukaryotes. PPCDC, one of the last enzymes in this pathway, converts phosphopantothenoylcysteine to 4-prime-phosphopantetheine. The antibody was generated against full length human recombinant PPCDC, which is a bright yellow protein, indicating the presence of flavins. The antibody solution gives yellow color, too. It may be caused by elution of flavins during affinity purification with PPCDC-protein column.
