NDUFS4 (NADH dehydrogenase [ubiquinone] iron-sulfur protein 4 mitochondrial), also known as AQDQ, is a member of NADH dehydrogenase (ubiquinone) iron-sulfur (NDUFS) protein family. It is a peripheral membrane protein located on the matrix side of the inner mitochondrial membrane. It is reported that the loss of NDUFS4 protein expression in immunohistochemistry (IHC) reliably diagnoses papillary thyroid carcinoma(PMID: 34792302). Also, NDUFS4 promotes tumor progression and predicts prognosis in gastric cancer(PMID: 36044738).
