Proteintech are thrilled to host Dr Kevin Qian from the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA), to present his recent Nature paper "CLSTN3β enforces adipocyte multilocularity to facilitate lipid utilization" (PMID: 36477540).
Talk description: Brown fat is a potential therapeutic target in disorders of energy balance such as obesity. One hallmark of brown adipocytes is "multilocularity" -- the organization of lipid stores into many small lipid droplets. We identified a novel brown fat-specific protein named CLSTN3β that establishes this characteristic phenotype and enables efficient utilization of stored triglycerides.
