UGT1A10 belongs to the superfamily of UDP-glucuronosyltransferases (UGTs) catalyzing the glucuronidation reaction, which is important in the detoxification and enhanced elimination of a large number of endogenous and exogenous substrates. Recently, UGT1A10 was found to be the only enzyme in all 19 known human UGTs to catalyze DA glucuronidation. The UGT1As, among three subfamilies (1A, 2A and 2B) found in human, share a common C-terminal domain of 245 residues. The N-terminal domains determining their substrate-binding specificity are variable. 14557-1-AP was generated against N-terminal 350aa of BC053576. A band around 45kDa was detected in Western blotting. The lower MW than calculated may due to the cleavage of signal sequence.
