Informations générales

The synaptotagmins are integral membrane proteins of synaptic vesicles thought to serve as Ca(2+) sensors in the process of vesicular trafficking and exocytosis (PMID: 8058779). SYT5 (synaptotagmin V) belongs to the synaptotagmin family. SYT5 can function as an exocytosis regulator (PMID: 27793683) and is a protein potentially associated with the pathology of schizophrenia (PMID: 32860155).
