Hintergrundinformationen

TSPAN15 is a membrane protein of the tetraspanin superfamily, which are characterized by the presence of four conserved transmembrane regions. Tetraspanins have been involved in diverse processes such as cell activation and proliferation, adhesion and motility, differentiation, and cancer. TSPAN15 belongs to the TSPANC8 subfamily, which also include TSPAN5, TSPAN10, TSPAN14, TSPAN17, and TSPAN33. It has been reported that TSPANC8 tetraspanins interact with ADAM10 and have a conserved function in the regulation of ADAM10 trafficking and activity, thereby positively regulating Notch receptor activation (PMID: 23091066; 23035126).

Some unspecific bands in the upper part of the gel but not so much at the expected molecular weight. I used 1:500 solution loading 30ug of protein, but I think it might be possible to use 1:1000.

calculated size at 33 and 23 kd. This antibody recognized a very weak band at 23 kd.
