The role:

Proteintech is experiencing rapid growth in Europe and is now recruiting for a Scientific Marketing Specialist to be part of the European marketing team based in Manchester, UK. The position is an exciting opportunity to drive innovative new marketing initiatives, with the aim of establishing Proteintech in the life science research community as the number one choice for antibodies, ELISA kits, and proteins.

The role is ideal for someone who has recently completed a research based Masters or PhD who is interested in a scientific marketing career in the biotechnology industry. Responsibilities: 

  • Lead the management and organisation of our highly successful European Field-Marketing Rep program. Support the 30+ PhD students in their activities and metrics.
  • Create and manage scientific marketing content: educational blogs, technical product emails, summarising publications, technical campaigns.
  • Manage and attend scientific conferences and smaller local events.
  • Co-ordinate and support the activity of the field-based Proteintech marketing reps to raise awareness in key accounts.
  • Co-ordinate and support the field-based sales team to meet their commercial goals with marketing materials, technical product training, and campaigns.
  • Manage the creation of scientific marketing materials, working with the Graphic Designer to produce compelling technical content.
  • Assist the Product Management and Marketing teams with marketing activities and tasks.
  • Continually seek and research new sources of prospective customer data, and provide recommendations to sales and marketing leadership
  • Report and monitor relevant marketing KPIs (key performance indicators).

 

Essential requirements:

  • Must be educated to research Masters or PhD level in a life science discipline. BSc and previous scientific communication or marketing experience will be considered.
  • Excellent scientific communications skills (written and verbal).
  • Networking experience from conferences and science meetings. Must be confident in making new connections with people across all seniority levels (e.g., PhD students to PIs and senior business leaders).
  • Laboratory experience (from practical modules and final year projects if necessary) Extensive antibody application experience highly desirable.
  • Independent, driven, and able to work on own initiative.
  • High level of professional communication skills and the confidence to interact with scientists at all levels.
  • Strong time management and organizational skills.
  • Native or fluent English speaking.
  • Full clean UK driving license.
