We are seeking a skilled and experienced researcher to join a team focused on the expression and purification of human expressed proteins.

The successful candidate will be responsible for developing new proteins and testing their activity.  They will be responsible for assay development and validation to test the bioactivity of the proteins.   Demonstrable experience with cell culture methods, transfections, scaleup of mammalian cell culture.   Experience with growth and transfection of mammalian cells both small and large scale for protein production will be a significant asset. Knowledge of single use technologies is a plus.  Strong scientific grounding in Cell Biology and cell therapy, protein chemistry and function, and assay development is required.   Data analysis skills, the ability to prepare written reports, scientific communication, and the ability to work productively and collaboratively within a tight-knit team are key assets for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cell culture capabilities both adherent and suspension and scale up
  • Transfections and stable cell line development
  • DOE and working in an GMP environment
  • Laboratory experience in protein analytical techniques (e.g., SDS-PAGE, HPLC, Western Blot).
  • Develop Bioassays for testing protein activity
  • Perform data analysis and summarize experimental results
  • Organize, record and maintain experimental data.
  • Ensure proper operation and perform routine maintenance of laboratory equipment.
  • Train and develop junior scientists
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment

Preferred Education/Experience:

  • Post-doc with 0-2 years work experience and PhD with 2-4 years work experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Must have excellent organization skills and ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Highly motivated, willingness to acquire new skills and ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, statistical tools etc.
  • Knowledge of International standards and GM
