Human BDNF ELISA Kit

BDNF in synaptic transmission, neuronal survival, neurogenesis, and plasticity

Brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF) plays a significant role in synaptic transmission, neuronal survival, neurogenesis, and plasticity. It participates in axonal growth, pathfinding, and the modulation of dendritic growth and morphology.

Recent studies have suggested that abnormalities in BDNF homeostasis contribute to brain pathogenesis and BDNF administration which leads to later-onset/slower neuropsychiatric disease progression (e.g., depression and bipolar disorder). Based on previous results it was also concluded that peripheral administration of BDNF in the early stage could have a therapeutic potential for neurodevelopmental diseases such as Rett syndrome.

KE00096 is a colorimetric solid-phase sandwich enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (sandwich ELISA). The Proteintech BDNF ELISA Kit (KE00096) is a quantitative measurement of human endogenous BDNF protein in serum, plasma, and cell culture supernatant.
