Background Information

Midbrain nucleolar protein (midnolin, MIDN) is abundantly expressed in embryonic midbrain and localizes in the nucleus and nucleolus. MIDN mRNA was strongly and abundantly expressed during early developmental stages, and that the expression was not limited to midbrain but also expressed in diverse adult mouse tissues, including heart, spleen, lung, liver, skeletal muscle, kidney and testis.
