Background Information

GNA15, also known as GNA16, belongs to the G-alpha family and G(q) subfamily. The protein encoded by the GNA15 gene is the alpha subunit of the G protein, which participates in the regulation of cell proliferation and apoptosis. GNA15 is highly expressed in some cell types, such as hematopoietic stem cells and epithelial cells during specific stages of differentiation. GNA15 is known to play as an oncogene in several tumors, such as gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine neoplasia (GEP-NEN), liver cancer, pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma and ovarian cancer (PMID: 34552875). The molecular weight of GNA15 is 44 kDa.
