Background Information

Ankyrin repeat domain-containing protein 49 (ANKRD49), an evolutionarily conserved protein highly expressed in the testes, is mainly found in spermatogonia, spermatocytes, and round spermatids. ANKRD49 also participates in the progression of malignant gliomas and gastric cancer in humans. (PMID: 37964204, PMID: 30798416)
