Background Information
TDRD5, also named as Tudor domain-containing protein 5, is a 981 amino acid protein, which contains one Tudor domain and three HTH OST-type domains. TDRD5 localizes in the cytiplasm and belongs to the TDRD5 family. TDRD5 is required during spermiogenesis to participate in the repression transposable elements and prevent their mobilization, which is essential for the germline integrity.
