Background Information
DIRAS1 belongs to the small guanosine triphosphatase (GTPase) Ras superfamily. DIRAS1 is frequently downregulated in human cancers due to DNA copy number loss, loss of heterozygosity (LOH), and hypermethylation of the promoter. The restoration of DIRAS1 has been reported to suppress tumor growth and metastasis in human neural tumors, esophageal cancer, colorectal cancer, and ovarian cancer.
